We all know that efficient people get up early and start their day. It's in all the podcasts and books, right? So, why is it so hard? I can't tell you. I'm a morning person. I don't jump out of bed in the morning and start my day. I wake up between 5:30-6 daily, without an alarm. I stay in bed. I read and think and enjoy the pure silence of the house and the comfiness of my bed. Some days, I do productive things, others I just rest my mind and prepare it for the day. It's quite luxurious to wake and slowly greet the day. 

 

Mornings are magical. They hold the sacred space between dreaming and work. Don't rush through your morning. Appreciate it. Create a routine that calms your soul before you rush into the craziness of the world. It can simply be waking up early enough to drink an entire cup of coffee without rushing or getting ready or watch the news. Just. Drink. The.  Coffee. Try it. For the next week wake up ten minutes earlier than usual and have yourself a nice cup of coffee or tea. See how it gives your mind the ability to collect and focus before being rushed? It's worth it. 

 

Eat Breakfast. Even if it's just a granola bar, your body needs you to eat breakfast. We've all heard it said that "breakfast is the most important meal of the day." It's true. Fun fact: if you skip breakfast your body stores all the fat you eat that day. A good breakfast jump starts your metabolism. Breakfast also gives me an excuse to eat pancakes and bacon. I don't pass up bacon.  

These are my reasons why you should be a morning person. And yes, I'm writing this before 8am from my bed. Go drink coffee. Go eat bacon. Be empowered. Cheers.
